After yesterdays Sunday morning service, my husband and I were feeling very moved and wanting more. So, we decided, for the first time, to go to the Sunday evening service. Well, the sermon was based on "Epitaphs". I had no idea what this was but the pastor explained that an epitaph is what is written on your tombstone after we die. He went on reading some famous ones like George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, and then asked us what our epitaph would say. Not just what it would say, but what would it say if
GOD wrote it about us? What would the Lord have to say about us?
WOW! I still can't stop thinking about this. If I were to die today, would the Lord have good things to say about me? The pastor went on to tell us about people in the bible that died and then what is says in the bible that God said about them. It was very convicting. God knows everything about us, inside and out, what we say what we do and even what we think. It made me want to work on myself and get to know the Lord even more. Imagine your life being written about, but not just what you say or do, what you THINK as well. Would you be okay with what JESUS has to say about you. After all, it doesn't matter what man thinks or says about us after we die, but it matters a whole lot what JESUS thinks and says about us. People worry so much about having a "good family name". But what about when we leave this world and meet out King? What will HE have to say? What about the name HE will give us? Isn't that more important?
Isaiah 62:2 ~And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name~
Love through Jesus,
Leah
